MEMPHIS - The longest running casino gambling show in the country, The GoodTimes Show, is moving to Beale Street, Memphis, and will broadcast from the studios of 730 Fox Sports & Gambling beginning Aug. 6, but will also produce live remote broadcasts from Havana Mix Cigar Emporium on Friday nights from 6-8.
Hosted by gambling columnist Rudi Schiffer, the weekly show is now in its 16th season and will be a longer, two hour show, in a better time slot between 6-8 pm Friday nights with a new, important addition…it will be rerun the next morning from 6-8 am. Joining Rudi on the show will be “Cigar Robb,” the proprietor of Havana Mix and a cigar afficiando.
The show will also be broadcast on the Internet by casinocitytimes.com on audiovegas.com where it is also archived. In addition, 730FOX is changing its identity from solely sports, to include casino gambling as well and is working on plans to host a slot show and gambling tips segments in the near future.
“Rudi is not known as the ‘Voice of Tunica’ for nothing,” said Dave Brown, general manager. “He has been involved with Mississippi casino gaming since the first casino opened in North Mississippi in 1992. He founded the first casino newspaper, Goodtimes News, and is now a columnist and feature contributor for Jackpot Magazine, Southern Gaming & Destinations, andcasinocitytimes.com.
“He brings a new dimension to the station which now includes the best sports talk show in Memphis, the Chris Vernon Show, Dan Patrick, and Chris Meyer “ said Brown. The show has also reached agreement with a new sponsor, Havana Mix Cigar Emporium, to do the shows from its cigar lounge at 99 S. Second, behind the Peabody Hotel.
